What is Ozone and Ozone Therapy?

Ozone (O3)

Ozone is an unstable molecule consisting of three oxygen atoms. Ozone is also called active oxygen. Since it is inactivated in a short time, it must be used immediately when obtained. Ozone is obtained by applying high voltage electric current to pure oxygen. Ozone is also gaseous like oxygen.

Medical Ozone
Ozone used in medicine is called medical ozone. Medical ozone, containing 3-5% ozone

consists of oxygen gas.

Ozone Therapy or Ozone Treatment
Treatments using medical ozone are called ozone therapy.

Effects of Ozone Therapy

  • Increases blood viscosity.
  • Improves tissue oxygenation.
  • Increases cell energy production.
  • Strengthens the immune system.
  • Shows Germ Killing Effect

Ozone shows this effect both directly by destroying the outer membrane of these agents and indirectly by affecting the immune system. Thus, it kills bacteria, viruses and fungi.

Ozone increases the secretion of interferon, which stimulates and regulates the immune system.

Ozone Increases Blood Fluidity

When ozone first comes into contact with the blood, it causes many changes in the red blood cells. One of these is that the red blood cells gain elasticity and thus the fluidity of the blood increases.

Ozone Increases Tissue Oxygenation

Ozone increases the oxygen carrying capacity of red blood cells and their ability to release this oxygen to the tissues. Thus, it provides better oxygenation of tissues.

The vessels in the human body shrink as they move away from the heart and into the tissue. After a certain thinness, red blood cells have to move in a single line. Where these small vessels bend, twist and branch, the red blood cells also change their shape and have to move forward by bending and twisting.

Red blood cells make up nearly half of the blood volume and are one of the main factors that play a role in the fluidity of the blood. Therefore, when red blood cells lose their elasticity, blood viscosity also decreases.

In conditions such as diabetes or acidosis, red blood cells lose their ability to change shape to varying degrees. As a result, vascular blockages in the capillaries and subsequent organ damage occur.

Again, in diabetes, the ability of red blood cells to release oxygen to tissues is reduced, which negatively affects tissue nutrition.

Ozone Therapy for Hair Loss
Ozone therapy has a stimulating effect on hair follicles. It increases cell proliferation and nutrition. Thus, it reduces hair loss.

Ozone also shows its effect on the scalp. Dandruff decreases or stops.

Ozone accelerates hair growth. The development phase of hair follicles is prolonged, the resting phase is shortened.

Ozone softens hard and easily electrified hair.

If ozone is applied to the scalp by taking the head in a cap, it oxidizes the residues left over from hair dye and cleans the scalp from chemicals.

Oiliness of oily hair decreases or returns to normal.

Ozone Therapy can be applied with the following methods

Blood-borne ozone therapy (autohemotherapy or rectal ozone therapy)
Ozone mesotherapy (ozone injections into the scalp)
Ozone cap (ozone application to the scalp and hair by giving ozone into the cap)

Ozone can be applied to the scalp in the following cases

  • Hair loss
  • Dandruff, oiliness
  • Fungal diseases of the scalp
  • Allergic diseases of the scalp
  • As support before and after hair transplantation

Used as an Aid in Cancer Treatment

Breaks down the membranes of tumor cells and causes their death. It prevents the proliferation and spread of cancer cells. It alleviates the side effects and strengthens the effect of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
